Thanks for creating the profile of Rev. John Forrest. In 1877 Rev. Forrest was a Presbyterian Minister in Halifax. He was the officiant for the wedding of my second great grand-uncle Donald Ross, a civil engineer in Auckland, New Zealand. Donald Ross was born in 1833 and raised on Boularderie Island, Cape Breton, and worked for a decade in Halifax as a surveyor and civil engineer before emigrating in 1864 from Nova Scotia to New Zealand. In 1877 he returned to Halifax for a bride. After their wedding Donald Ross returned to Auckland with his bride Sarah Hendry, where they raised three daughters.
Meanwhile, I'm going to add some detail to Rev. Forrest's profile. Here's his Wikipedia profile: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Forrest_(Canadian_clergyman). Starting in 1885 he was President of Dalhousie University for 25 years.
With best regards,
