Frances Jane 'Fanny' Burrell was born in 1858 in Mile End Old Town in London's East End, Middlesex, England, United Kingdom. She was the daughter of James Burrell, a bricklayer, and Unity Peachey. [1] Fanny was christened in Holy Trinity Church of England, Mile End Old Town, on 27th August 1862.
Fanny married Henry Hickson, a bootmaker, in 1879 at the registration district of Poplar, Middlesex. [2] They had five children who, almost certainly, were kept in top-condition shoes:
According to the 1891 UK Census, the family was living in Stratford le Bow, a neighbouring suburb to Mile End and West Ham.
Fanny passed away, aged 35 years, in 1894 in West Ham. [3] West Ham is just three miles (five kilometres) from Mile End, where Fanny had been born.
