Margaret Burrell was the daughter of John Decker and Eleanor (Marshall) Burrell. She was born in Greene county, Ohio on 16 August 1808. Sher sibliygs were: Mary Jane, Debora; Susannah; Elizabeth and Marshall Burrell.

Margaret married John Smith, who came to Xenia, Greene Co., OH about 1810 (M. Broadstone, "History of Greene County, Ohio.") when he was 18 years old. John and Margaret were married on 16 January 1823 In Greene Co., OH. (Ohio, County Marriage Records, 1774-1993, database available on ancestry.com or familysearch.org).

To this couple were born: Burrell; William; Eleanor; Henry; Sarah Ann; Eli; Elizabth; Nancy; Alfred; Mary Jane; Margaret; and Emily. Of these twelve children only Henry died as an infant. Many of they migrated west into Delaware County, Indiana.

Glad I could help with this line. I am seeking the parents of John Smith from Rappahannock,(possibly Essex) County, Virginia. Brenda Massie Tolle
