Biography

Francis "Fanny" Burris born about 1730 was married to John W. Embree.

1. Will dated 25 Jan 1816 and probated Jan 1817 in Christian co., KY. 2. Copied from page 591 of the Rozendal book: "Brockman (The Brockman Scrapbook, p. 52) states, "There are indications that Thomas (Burrus), spouse of Frances Tandy, was much older than his wife and, therefore, she may have been his second wife. When Thomas Burrus died (will, Orange, 1788) he had grandchildren over 21, which points to his birth about 1720/21. Frances, his wife, died 29 years after her husband (will, Christian Co., Ky.) and some of their children were not married until 1783 (Mourning Burris to Thomas Graves) while Thomas, son of Thomas, Jr., was apparently over 21 when his grandfather died."
