Biography

Richard Harold Burris was born on April 19, 1917, to Claude "Mose" Burris and Julia (Britt) Burris of Madison, Kansas.[1][2]

In 1920, Richard Harold was two years old and living with his parents and two siblings in Madison, Kansas.[3]

In 1925, Harold was seven years old and living with his parents and three siblings in Madison, Kansas.[4]

In 1930, Harold was 12 years old and living with his parents and three siblings in Madison, Kansas.[5]

Harold married Waneta Margaretta Schwindt in about 1938. The couple had at least six children, including:

1. Jacklyn Kay (1939-1946)
2. Max Eugene (1940-1960)
3. Richard George (1942-2001)
4. Patricia Ann (1944-2010)

On April 18, 1940, Harold and Waneta, both 22 years old, were living with their daughter Jacklyn (10 months) in a house they were renting in Madison, Kansas.[6] Harold listed his occupation as "rock quarring" in the "road construction industry."[6]

Harold registered for the World War II military draft on October 16, 1940.[2]

He passed away on February 14, 1958, at the age of 40.[1] He is buried in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Olpe, Lyon County, Kansas, USA.[1]

He passed away in 1958.
