Biography

  • Parents: John & Mercy Burritt of Stratford, CT

In 1809, she is mentioned in her brother, Hezekiah Burritt's will.[1]

Her will is dated 3 May 1834 and proved on 7 March 1840 in Bridgeport. She mentions her children, Elihu Curtiss, Polly Booth, Nancy Hawley, Stephen Wells Curtiss, decd., Burritt Curtiss, and her grandchildren, Julia Wells, Catherine Ufford, Harriet Blackman, Nathan Birdseye, and Philo Birdseye, and her son-in-law Benjamin Ufford, and Curtiss Hubbell, son of her daughter Caty Ufford, decd.[2]

In 1840, her estate distribution was set out to her children and grandchildren, viz., Elihu Curtis, Burritt Curtiss, Polly Booth, Nancy Hawley, Julia Wells, Catherine Ufford, Harriet Blackman, Nathan Birdseye, and Phil Birdseye, Benjamin Ufford and Curtis Hubbell.[3]

Her inventory was completed on 15 April 1840 in Stratford.[4]
