Biography

Amos Burrows was born on 6 Aug 1714, to John Burrows Jr. [1] and Lydia (Hubbard) Burrows in Groton, Connecticut Colony.[2][3][4]

Amos married Elizabeth Rathbone in 1736/37. The exact date is not yet known, or whether they were married in Colchester (her home town) or Groton (his home town), or somewhere else. Record of where has not yet been located.[4][5]

Amos died, 01 Jun 1773 in Groton and is buried in “Old Packer Burying Grounds, at Mystic, Connecticut”. [4]

  • “Mystic is a village and census-designated place (CDP) in New London County, Connecticut, in the United States. The population was 4,205 at the 2010 census.  Mystic has no independent government because it is not a legally recognized municipality in the state of Connecticut. Rather, Mystic is located within the towns of Groton (west of the Mystic River, and also known as West Mystic) and Stonington (east of the Mystic River).” [7]

This Amos cannot be the father of the Abel that is attached because this Amos died before Abel was born. The Amos that is the father of the attached Able was born in 1738 (exact date not known in the Robert Burrow Genealogy Book, Pg 497). I will put the children of this Amos in the biography with birth dates.
