Biography

John was born in either 1830, or 1832, depending on which record one trusts. [1] He married Sarah Ann Amanda Calfee in Coosa County, Alabama, on December 16, 1852. [2] He was a landowner and farmer in Coosa county. John and Sarah had three children together. [3] John William enlisted into the CSA about 1862. He fought throughout the war, finally being captured at the Battle of Atlanta, July 21, 1864. John was imprisoned at Camp Chase, Ohio, where he ultimately died of febrile Typhus (typhoid fever) one week before the war ended. He was buried there under the incorrect name of JW Burk due to errors in the camp records, and his tombstone still stands there today. [4]

His GGF might be Joseph Burt

James was born in 1832. He passed away in 1865.

Burk-2512 and Burt-3656 appear to represent the same person because: On further research I found this profile. I created a duplicate profile using the name in Camp Chase records.

Please see these instructions for triangulation on WikiTree carefully: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Triangulation

and notice that it says that all three of the cousins need to match one another on the same segment of DNA that is at least 7 cM.

Your statement does explain which segment the three cousins share.

I've changed the 'confirmed with DNA' entry to 'confident'. Please add the appropriate documentation before changing it back to 'confirmed with DNA'. Thanks!
