Doris was born in 1923. Her father was a Journeyman Tailor who, because of the nature of his job, moved about a lot.
Doris joined the WRNS during WW2 and spent just over 3 years as a leading WREN Pay Writer. Despite it being during the war she always said she enjoyed her time in the forces and made quite a few good friends. She often attended the Wrens reunions being, I believe, the last surviving WREN of her group.
She passed away at 2030 hrs on Friday 6th September 2019.
