On Tuesday January 31st at 7 o'clock am, Mrs Jack Marriott known by all as Aunt Cynthia died at her home near Harcourt, Hardin county of pneumonia at the ripe old age of seventy eight. Her maiden name was Cynthia Burtle and she was born and raised on the home place where she died. When about nineteen years of age she married A J Marriott who died eleven years ago at the age of seventy two. She was the mother of fifteen children, eleven of whom survived her. {Patrick Henry} P H of Missouri, {Charles Issac} C I of Texas, {Andrew Jackson} A J of California, {Joseph W} W J of Oklahoma, {Martin John} John of Grayson county, Kentucky, {Eliza Ellen} Mrs E E Bickett of Meade county Kentucky, {Susan Francis} Mrs T H Rhodes of Grayson county Kentucky, {Harriett Ann} Sister M Silveria of Kansas, {Mary Sophia} Mrs Mary Carroll, {James Osban} {Cynthia Anne} James and Cynthia Marriott of this county. She was a firm believer of the Catholic church in which faith she lived and died after receiving all the sacred rites of her holy religion. In her death the community has lost a good friend and neighbor, the church a consistent member and the family a kind and affectionate mother. But what a consolation to those who mourn if they have the assurance that their dear ones are waiting to welcome them home.
