Biography
Samuel was baptised 13 Feb 1639/40 the son of Samuel Burton and Anna Read. [1]
c1662 Samuel Burton married Frances, probably a quaker wedding in Earls Colne.[citation needed]
1670 admitted to a messuage called Tredgolds [2]
1687 Elected warden[3]
1691 he was a grocer[4]
Signatory in 1696 of the Association Roll created after the failed Jacobite assassination plot of 1696 it placed intense pressure on nonresistant Tories in public life to acknowledge William as "rightful and lawful King". [5]
1698 signatory on quarterly quaker meeting.[6]
