John Burton was the son and heir of Edward Burton of Longnor, Shrewsbury, Shropshire.[1][2][3][4]

Marriage
John Burton married Elizabeth, daughter of Thomas Poyner of Beslow, Shropshire.[1][2][3][5]
In the will of his father Edward Burton, gent of Longnor, the will made on 20 Apr 1524 and proved on 14 Oct 1524[6] the Testator's Executors were his wife Joys and his son John. The Testator also referred to his daughters Anne (presumably unmarried), Jone Corbet, and Elyn Banaster. Note that Jone Corbet and Elyn Banaster have also been recorded as daughters of John Burton rather than Edward Burton.
