March 18, 1925 The Day the Great Winds Blew
I decided to attempt to find something, just one thing to say about Mureldean that would be positive, regardless that we didn't like each other. She was a survivor. She talked about the great tornado [1] She survived! She had meningitis shortly after that, it messed up her eyes, one pointed up and one pointed down. At a time when meningitis usually meant death, she survived. Being orphaned at a young age and raised by her grandmother, I began relating to what my own father went through being orphaned young and not knowing who you are or where you came from.
So Mureldean, for all the years you couldn't or wouldn't tell Darcy or me about your family, this is for you, your grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marriage record to Elmer hasn't been found yet.

I asked former brother-in-law Charlie, who his father was.
