Biography

Emily Jane Burton, the daughter of Sherod Burton and Joanna Ott Burton, was born 15 June 1831 in Harrison Co, Indiana, and died 01 June 1920 in Marengo, Crawford Co, Indiana. On Nov 20, 1853, she married James Alexander Lockhart in Harrison Co, Indiana. Between 1860 and 1870, the Lockharts moved to Southeast, Orange Co, Indiana. They were the parents of 11 children, William Francis " Frank", Alfred "Alphie",Henry, James Alexander, John Rodney, Sherman Alexander, George Washington, Mary Jane "Mollie". Dora Belle, Charles, and Sophronia " Fronie".
