Biography

Mary was born in about 1839 to Richard Burton and Sarah Palmer.

She married William Wilson in 1862. ^[1]

In 1871, Mary Burton, age 31 (born in Ontario) lived in Pickering with John (27), Lydia (6), Harriet (5) and Rhoda (3). ^[2] Note: John is her brother and the three daughters are hers based on FamilySearch details. William Wilson, age 33 is listed next on this census is the husband of Mary per FamilySearch.

Mary passed away in 1915. ^[3]

"Richard Burton married Sarah Palmer and farmed Lot 27, Con. 9, moving in 1850 to Lot 16, Con. 6, where he spent the rest of his life. He died in 1856, and his wife in 1880. Their family were Mary (Mrs. W. Wilson, of Brougham), Thomas (deceased), John (Lot 16, Con. 6), Lydia (Mrs. Russell, Dakota), Nicholas (who spent eleven years as a harness maker in Columbus and has been for thirty years in Claremont in the same line), Sarah (Mrs. John Linton, Toronto), and Richard (deceased)." ^[4]
