Disputed Origins

Samuel has been shown as the son of John Bush (abt. 1620-bef. 1670) and Grace Sanders (abt. 1633-aft. 1680) without sources. John Bush and his wife Grace resided in Maine. Samuel Bush was in Sudbury, Massachusetts in 1659, at about age 17;^[1] it seems very improbable that a 17 year old traveled over 100 miles to reside in Sudbury where he married and where his first child was born. These parents have been detached from this profile; if reliable sources are posted to show his parentage, the correct parents will be attached.

He may have been a son of Reynold Bush (abt.1600-abt.1686) and Elizabeth (Unknown) Bush (abt.1610-bef.1685) of Cambridge. The Bush surname DNA project results suggest that his descendants are closely related to descendants of Reynold's son John, as well as those of Jonathan Bush of Enfield.^[2]

Biography

Samuel Bush was born about 1642. He first appeared as "aged about 17" in a deposition tried in Middlesex County on 15 June 1659.^[1]
