Biography

James was born in 1804, he is the son of Elizabeth Cains and Timothy Bush. He was baptised at the age of 11in Bitton on 15 September 1815.

In 1824, James was arrested with Francis Britton, Isaac Britton, Thomas Wilmot, Mark Whitting, Samuel Peacock and Robert England for the murder of Isaac Garden at the Tennis Court Inn in Warmley. James and Mark were sentenced to death, the others were acquitted. [1]
