Biography

Gerald was born in 1914. He passed away in 1976.

Jerry played basketball at St. John's. He played professionally for eleven years in the NBL; starting with Akron Firestones and finishing with the Toledo Jeeps in 1948.

While he was still playing pro ball he began coaching college ball at the University of Toledo. He had a record of 127–58 with the Rockets. He took the Head Coach position at the University of Nebraska starting in 1954. While he was flamboyant, he never had a winning record with the Cornhuskers in his nine seasons at the helm. His predecessor was Harry Carlton Good (1902-1997), and he preceded Joe Cipriano.

He took a position with Universal Assurors Inc. of Omaha following his coaching career.
