The existence of this person is known from the Will of his brother, Daniel Buss, dated 1779. Daniel referred to his nephew, Samuel Buss, carpenter of Staplehurst, but not to Samuel's father, indicating that the father (Daniel's brother) had already died. More evidence is required, but the most likely identity for this person is John Buss who was buried at Staplehurst on 29 October 1760. A John Buss married a Katherine Harden at Smarden 3 October 1734.
Further to the above, I have now obtained a copy of the Will of John Buss, carpenter of Staplehurst, dated 24th October 1760 (proved 9th February 1761). In it he leaves his "household goods, chattles, stock in trade, utensills, debts and readdy money whatsoever and wheresoever" to be equally divided between his "well beloved wife" Catharine Buss (the sole executrix) and his son Samuel Buss.Oliver-4952 16:46, 23 June 2017 (EDT)
