Johann Jacob Buss was born in 1701 in Rhein, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. He married Anna Maria Catharina Ritter on September 21, 1728. They had eight children in 20 years. He died on July 10, 1778, having lived a long life of 77 years, and was buried in Northampton, Pennsylvania.
