The United States of America, To all to whom these presents shall come, Greetings: Whereas Nathan FAULKNER, of Chickasaw County, Mississippi has deposited in the GENERAL LAND OFFICE of the United States a certificate of THE REGISTER OF THE LAND OFFICE at Pontotoc whereby it appears that full payment has been made by the said Nathan FAULKNER, according to the provisions of two several [sic] Treaties with the CHICKASAW INDIANS, dated October 20, 1832, and May 24, 1834, the Act of Congress of the 24th of April 1820 entitled "An act making further provision for the sale of the Public Lands", and the several Acts of Congress supplemental thereto, for the South West quarter of Section Twenty six in Township Fourteen of Range Two East in the District of subject to sale at Pontotoc, Mississippi containing one hundred and fifty nine Acres and seventy four hundredths of an Acre. According to the official plat of the Survey of the said lands, returned to the GENERAL LAND OFFICE by the SURVEYOR GENERAL, which said tract has been purchased by the said Nathan FAULKNER. NOW KNOW YE, that the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in consideration of the premises, and conformity with the several acts of Congress, in such case made and provided, HAVE GIVEN AND GRANTED, and by these presents DO GIVE AND GRANT, unto the said Nathan FAULKNER and his heirs, the said tract above described: TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same, together with all the rights, privileges, immunities and appurtenances of whatever nature, thereunto belonging, unto the said Nathan FAULKNER and to his heirs and assigns forever. IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I John TYLER, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, have caused these Letters to be made PATENT, and the SEAL of the GENERAL LAND OFFICE to be hereunto affixed. GIVEN under my hand at the CITY OF WASHINGTON the fifth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred forty-three and of the Independence of the United States of America sixty-eighth. BY THE PRESIDENT: John TYLER. By: R. TYLER, Sec'y., Jos. WILSON, acting Recorder of General Land Office.

        • This land is right next door to Sanford Robertson. Sanford patented land 4/9/1842 (patent identified him as being of Edgefield South Carolina) and his land was cited as being in Township 14 Range 2 East Section #25 Southwest Quarter (160 acres) -- Township 14 Range 2 East Section #26 the East Half (319.48 acres) and Township 14 Range 2 East Section #27 (159.57 acres). Nathan's land shared a common boundary with Sandford in Section #26. A man named William G. Little owned the Northwest quarter in Section #26. There is definitely a connection between Nathan and the Robertson family but I just don't know what it was.
