A Patriot of the American Revolution for VIRGINIA with the rank of LIEUTENANT. DAR Ancestor # A017576

Samuel Butcher, Jr., was born in Loudoun County, Virginia on Marh 28, 1756, the child of Samuel Butcher, Sr and Susannah (Lewis). When he was very young, he moved with his parents to a farm near Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and here Samuel Jr spent his childhood and early adulthood. After 1769, as a young man, Samuel Jr, followed his father southward and settled near Bloomfield, Cameron Parish, Loudoun County, Virginia. When he was 21 years old in 1777, Samuel Jr inherited his father’s large plantation near Bloomfield, Virginia. At the age of about 22, Samuel Jr. Married Miss Hannah (Drake), probably in Loudoun County, Virginia in 1776.[1]

After their marriage, Samuel Jr and Hannah settled on his plantation and here their first 8 children were born. They resided 7 miles from the county seat, and Samuel Jr made a habit of going there every week or two.

Butcher-2110 and Butcher-1288 appear to represent the same person because: Data are same or compatible. Both profiles actually agree that Loudon Cty, VA was birthplace (even tho on e says Lancaster Cty, PA, where he evidently grew up)
