Thomas "Tommy" Butcher was a third great-grandson of Jenny Sellards Wiley. He was a third cousin of Maybelle Carter.
Tommy was a World War II veteran. He was buried at Falls cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.
He was the husband of Clara Ramey Webb Butcher and stepfather of Loretta Lynn and Crystal Gayle.
