Biography

Margaret was the daughter of Herbert Butcher and Lizzie Parker.^[1][2] She was born on 3 May 1890 and christened on 12 March 1906 in South Shore, Blackpool, Lancashire. The baptism register records her as "Margaret Ellen [child of] Herbert & Lizzie Butcher, 6 Somerset Street Rothwell S.S., Joiner".^[3]

In 1901, she was recorded as Nellie Butcher, aged 11. She was living in the house of her sister Etty and brother-in-law Ernest Schofield at 30 Harrison Street, Blackpool.^[4][5]

She married David Cecil Hutchison in 1910 in the registrati0on district of Cardiff in Glamorgan, Wales.^[6]

At the 1911 census, Margaret and her husband David appear to have been visitors in the household of Alfred Hill at 2 East St Blackpool. Her husband was an electric wireman.^[7]

In 1921, Margaret (31) was living with her husband Davis (36) and three children at 16 Drummond Avenue, Blackpool. Their children were Mary Betty (10), David Ronald (8) and John (3). Her husband was an electrical fitter and Margaret's occupation was home duties.^[8]

In 1939, she was living with her husband David and family in Blackpool, Lancashire.^[9]

She passed away in 1987 in Blackpool, Lancashire.^[10]

There was a Margaret Ellen Butcher who married Arthur Halsall in 1910 in the registration district of Fylde, Lancashire.^[11] She is shown in the 1911 census living with her husband Arthur in Great Harwood, Lancashire. She was recorded as age 29, a cotton weaver, and born in Freckleton, Lancashire.^[12] She was the daughter of William Butcher of Freckleton, Lancashire.^[13]
