Family history says Daniel was a journalist and publisher in Genesee and Rochester NY. He disappeared while covering the expansion of the Erie Canal around 1836. His son Comfort was then apprenticed by his mother to a farmer, and subsequently ran away, walking along the Great Lakes to Wisconsin, where he was taken in by a Menomonee tribe and was known as Red Jacket. I am interested in any information about Daniel and his parentage.
