She was the daughter of George Butler and Emily Crumrine. She was married to Barton/Bartley Brooks and had 3 children with him: Roza; Arnold; and Ralph. After Barton's death she remarried to David Price in 1885 in Clark County, Illinois. David and Eliza had 4 children together: Alma; Della; Goldie (1893-1979); and Walter. By 1928 David and Eliza were living in Michigan. This was documented in their daughter Alma Platt’s marriage record and the 1930 census shows them living with Alma’s family in Cedar Creek, Wexford County, Michigan. However, David and Eliza separated between 1930 and 1940. Eliza continued to live in Wexford County, eventually living on daughter Goldie’s property in a separate trailer home. After becoming ill she moved into their house until her death on 10/26/1947.
