She was born in the Smithdale community, Sept. 27, 1886, a daughter of the late George Harrison and Mary Elizabeth Tarver Butler. After attendance at the schools of her area she became a teacher, working 10 years in schools of Franklin County, in McComb and at Walker's Bridge, among other places.
Following her marriage the family became residents of McComb, where her husband and later, their son have long operated a metal and hardware business.
Mrs. Walker was a member of Centenary Methodist Church, a Past Worthy Matron of Queen Esther Chapter No. 4, Order of Eastern Star, and a member of Judith Robinson Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.
Throughout her long life in the McComb community Mrs. Walker remained one its most active and energetic citizens. She was especially devoted to her family, but also played a leading part in a host of church, fraternal and civic affairs.
Funeral services will be said at 3 p.m. Sunday from Centenary Methodist Church. The body will lie at Catchings Chapel until that time.
Dr. Wyatt R. Hunter, pastor of First Baptist Church, will conduct rites. Nephews of Mrs. Walker will serve as her pallbearers.
