Biography

Daniel Rawlins alias Butler (1614–1670) of Bromham was a weaver[1] and one of the first converts to Quakerism.[2]

Daniel was baptised on 20 Feburary 1613/4 in Bromham to John Butler alias Rawlins and his wife Cicely Butler alias Rawlins née Fisher.[3]

Daniel married Katheryn Cox on 8 October 1638 in Bromham.[4] She passed away sometime between 1643 and 1646.[5][6]

Daniel remarried to Dorothy Gee on 9 May 1646 in St John the Baptist, Devizes.[6]

Sometime between 1654 and 1656, Daniel became a Quaker, continuing as such until his death.[7][2]

Daniel passed away on 22 Feburary 1669/70 in Bromham and was buried in Devizes.[8]
