Biography

Daniel Rawlins alias Butler (1614–1670) of Bromham was a weaver^[1] and one of the first converts to Quakerism.^[2]

Daniel was baptised on 20 Feburary 1613/4 in Bromham to John Butler alias Rawlins and his wife Cicely Butler alias Rawlins née Fisher.^[3]

Daniel married Katheryn Cox on 8 October 1638 in Bromham.^[4] She passed away sometime between 1643 and 1646.^[5][6]

Daniel remarried to Dorothy Gee on 9 May 1646 in St John the Baptist, Devizes.^[6]

Sometime between 1654 and 1656, Daniel became a Quaker, continuing as such until his death.^[7][2]

Daniel passed away on 22 Feburary 1669/70 in Bromham and was buried in Devizes.^[8]
