James Butler was born in Wiltshire, England.

James Butler was born in Bromham in 1855. He was the son of Daniel Butler and Anne Spackman [1]

He was baptised in Bromham on 8 June 1855 [2]

James married Mary Eliza Moore in Devizes district in 1877. [3]. The marriage took place in Rowde on 10 October 1877, their fathers were recorded as Daniel Butler, yeoman, and Joseph Moore, yeoman. [4]

He passed away in Bromham on 25 August 1909 [5]. He was buried in Rowde with his wife, the gravestone shows his date of birth as 11 May 1855. [6]
