Biography
Elizabeth Butler was born December 17, 1766,[1] the daughter of James Butler and Mary Elizabeth Foote Simpson.[2] It's thought that she was born in South Boston, Halifax, Virginia. She was married to Zachariah Smith Brooks[3] and had these known children:
- Lucretia Brooks
- Whitfield Butler Brooks Sr.
- Lucinda (Brooks) Bird
- Behetheland (Brooks) Bird
- Nancy (Brooks) Blocker
- Eliza Brooks
- William Butler Brooks
Elizabeth passed away in November of 1802 and was buried in the United Methodist Church Cemetery in Saluda, South Carolina.[1]
