Private Benjamin Butler served with 1st Regiment, Providence County Militia, Rhode Island Militia during the American Revolution.

Benjamin Butler served under Captain Ballou, Captain Potter and Colonel Mathewson in the Rhode Island Militia.
Benjamin Butler was born 18 Dec 1727 of Israel Butler and Elizabeth Blossom in Massachusetts Bay.[1]
Benjamin married Susanna Whiting of Wrentham on 14 January 1757 in Cumberland, Providence, Rhode Island.[2]

Research Notes
Based on the 1790 Census there appear to be two different Benjamin Butlers in early Vermont. This Benjamin in Middletown, Rutland, Vermont and one in North Hero, Chittenden, Vermont, USA and one in Underhill, Chittenden, Vermont. Some of the attached children give North Hero as their birth place. Cole-12288 17:31, 16 December 2023 (UTC)
