Hiram Butterfield was born on 4th jul 1835 in Soothill, Yorkshire, England, and baptised on 26th July 1835 at Dewsbury, All Saints, Yorkshire, son of John and Hannah Butterfield. At that time his father was a Miner, and the family was living in Soothill, Yorkshire.^[1]
