Biography

Nathaniel was born in 1789, the son of Nathaniel Butterfield and Esther Stewart. He died in 1854. Nathaniel married as his first wife in 1814 to Elizabeth Campbell. After Elizabeth's death he married as his second wife in 1850 to Pamelia Fuller (widow of Justus Brewster). He and Elizabeth did not have any children.

"Clyde-in the Valley of Otter Creek", 1976, compiled by the Town of Clyde Bicentennial Committee. " Judge Nathaniel and Mrs. Butterfield were the first Cholera victims in the township, and their children Benjamin, Mary E. and Nathaniel W."
