Biography

Charles M. Butterfield is the son of Parcus Butterfield of Dixfield, Maine.

Charles married Bathsheba Bean, daughter of Greenlief Bean and Sally (Taylor) Bean.

Charles and Bathsheba lived first at Wilton, Maine, but later moved to Mars Hill and then moved again to California.

Charles and Bathsheba had at least one daughter, Flora G. Butterfield. Flora died at the age of 13 years and 6 months. She shares a headstone with her father in the Chico Cemetery, in Butte County, California. The inscription reads "Daughter of C.M. and Bathsheba T.
