PETER BUTTS Gent of SoH Co VA, JOHN BUTTS planter of Brunswick Co VA, CHARLES SIMMONS Gent & ELEANOR his wife of SoH Co VA to DANIEL BUTTS planter & SARAH BUTTS spinster of SoH Co VA whereas THOMAS BUTTS late of the county of New Kent dec'd the father of said PETER, JOHN, ELEANOR, DANIEL & SARAH departed this life intestate having in this life provided for the said PETER, JOHN & ELEANOR and leaving the sd DANIEL & SARAH unprovided for & whereas the sd PETER, JOHN & ELEANOR having received their distributive share or more except for the lands & in order to avoid a suit in chancery we do for the sum of 5 shillings hereby relenquish & quit claim to all manner of rights & interest in the slaves & personal property of THOMAS BUTTS dec'd. To have & to hold etc.
