Agnes Buxton was born 16 April 1817 and baptised in September 1818 at Tissington, Derbyshire, England. She was the daughter of Thomas Buxton and Ellen Bott. [1]

Thomas and Ellen Buxton and their children emigrated from England to Van Diemen's Land in 1821. They arrived at Hobart, Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on 05 May 1821 on board the ship, 'Westmoreland'. [2]
