note: this date 1645 is an obvious import error, as the file also has immigration 1634. The birth may be a typo, more likely 1615, or it may be a death date. More study is needed to place this man with a family. Mix-216 20:09, 2 August 2014 (EDT)

I can find no match for this Jan, so I am going to go ahead and move him to NNS as a Settler. He immigrated in 1634, and must have been born about 1615, although his stated birth was 1645 in error. He lived in Kingston, Ulster County.
The closest match I find is this Jan Cornelise Buys born 1629, who lived in Brooklyn, Long Island, and also married a Femmetje. But that family lived hundreds of miles away from Ulster, so it is doubtful as a match.
There is also an unrelated Ruys family in New Netherland, but I find no matches with this Jan either.
The name Jan Cornelis Buys shows up frequently in different generations, so it may have been a common combination with patronymic of two common given names, Jan and Cornelis, although Buys is not so common as a surname.
