From Genealogical and Personal History of Western Pennsylvania:

William Skelly married Elizabeth, daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth (Harmon) Byerly; he (Jacob) was a soldier at Fort Pitt during the Revolutionary War.

Jacob was born in 1760. He passed away in 1858.
