Biography
William was born in 1893. William John Byers. At the war service Exemption Court “ William John Byers, Mudgegonga. Worked on parents' farm ; -only son.—Absolute exemption.” [Myrtleford Mail, 9 Nov 1916] “A wedding took place in St. Michael's Church, Tallangatta on 29th ult., Rev. Father Lawless officiating. The parties were Mr. William John Byers and Miss Mary Kathleen Curley. Miss Ellen Curley (sister) was bridesmaid and Mr. Win. Gale officiated us best man.” [Upper Murray and Mitta Herald] He passed away in 1969.
