Biography
Elizabeth was born in 1888. She is the daughter of John Byfield and Janet Unknown. . [1]
She married Thomas Major Shore in 1904 [2] but he left for work in Peru in 1906, and she has a child by another man in his absence, for which she was convicted of false birth registration in 1908. On Shore's return to NZ in July 1907 they were not reconciled but never divorced. After he passed away in 1935 she married 2nd George Albert Ritson in 1937 [3], with whom she had had children in 1910, 1911 and 1914.
She passed away in 1954 age 66 [4]
