Gustavus Benjamin Bynum was born on Aug 26, 1876 in Mississippi, USA as the first child of Morgan Lafait Bynum and Mahala Jane Bush. NOTE: His headstone date has 26 Aug 26, 1877. He was probably born in 1876 as the 1880 and 1900 censuses has. His brothers, William Hardie and Benjamin Taylor were born on Mar 18, 1878 and if Gus was born on Aug 26, 1877 then a conflict occurs when saving as less than 8 months between him and his brothers.

He had nine siblings, namely: Benjamin Taylor, William Hardie, John Matterson, Columbus Morgan, Mary, Kisiah, France, Bertie, and Marsie.

He died on Nov 24, 1908 (Age at Death: 31).

When he was 23, he married Leavy Jane Wells, daughter of Francis Marion Wells and Caroline Hicks, on Feb 24, 1901 in Simpson County, Mississippi, USA. [1]
