In the 1851 England Census John Byrom 53 born about 1798 in Saddleworth, Yorkshire, England, was head of his household in Jame Croft, Friar Mere St Thomas, Saddleworth, Yorkshire, England. Other Household members were his wife Betty Byrom 51, and their children, Hannah Byrom 27, Alice Byrom 25, Dorothy Byrom 22, Hugh Byrom 20, John Byrom 17, Betty Byrom 15, Benjamin Byrom 13, Mary Jane Byrom 10, and Samuel Byrom 7. [1]

In the 1861 England Census John Byrom 63 born about 1798 in Saddleworth, Yorkshire, England, woolen manufacturer employing 25, was head of his household in Saddleworth St Thomas Yorkshire England. Other Household Members, all born in Saddleworth, were his wife Betty Byrom 61, and their children: Hannah Byrom 37, Alice Byrom 35, Dorothy Byrom 32, Hugh Byrom 29, John Byrom 27, Benjamin Byrom 23, Mary J Byrom 20, and Samuel Byrom 17.
