Mary was born in 1841. She is the daughter of John Byram and Betty Broadbent.

In the 1861 England Census John Byrom 63 born about 1798 in Saddleworth, Yorkshire, England, woolen manufacturer employing 25, was head of his household in Saddleworth St Thomas Yorkshire England.
