William Capers Bird married 21 Mar 1865 to Caroline Harper "Carrie" Brooks and had:

Southern Cross of Honor William Capers Bird attended University of South Carolina, Emory University and University of Virginia. Attorney & Planter in Monticello, Florida prewar. Captain of Company I, 1st Florida Infantry Regiment[2] and Colonel & Judge Advocate on Beauregard's Staff in the American Civil War. Attorney & Planter, United States Marshal, State Senator and State Treasurer postwar.[3]

Son of Daniel Bird and Behethland Brooks. Husband of Caroline Harper Brooks. Final resting place in Roseland Cemetery, Monticello, Jefferson County, Florida.[4]
