Biography

Jens Byriel, known as James, was born on 13 May 1885 in Gray, Audubon, Iowa. He was the son of Mathias Jensen Byriel and Hansine Marie Mortensen.

On 8 December 1909 he married Louise Nicoline Jorgensen in Shelby, Iowa.^[1]

James and Louise had one son and two daughters:

1. Evelyn Marie Byriel
2. Belmont James Byriel m Nina Alt
3. Ruby Lena Byriel m Joseph Ambrose Madsen

James Byriel died on 17 November 1916 in Coon Rapids, Guthrie, Iowa.^[2] He was interred in Bethany Lutheran Cemetery, Kimballton.^[3]
