She married William Byrne (not related by blood) on Sept 19, 1836 in her hometown.[1] [2]

She died on May 16th 1904 in Sydney having lived a long life of 87 yrs.
OBITUARY. Mrs. Hannah Byrne. May 1904.[3] —On Tuesday, May 17[4], the remains of Mrs. Hannah, Byrne, were interred in the Catholic portion of Rookwood Cemetery. The deceased lady, who was the eldest daughter of the late Andrew Byrne, Hay market, was in her 88th year, and was born in 1817 at her parents' residence, O'Connell and Bent streets, Sydney. She was married in 1836 at St. Joseph's Chapel, adjoining old St. Mary's, by the late Rev. Father Therry, to Mr. William Byrne[5], a native ofParramatta, who survives her. The deceased resided at her late residence, 37 Prince street, for the past 41 years, and leaves three sons and four daughters, all of whom, with her husband (who is in his 96th year), and numerous grandchildren and friends, were present at the burial.[6] The late Mrs. Byrne was greatly respected by all who knew her for her gentle and benevolent dis position, and passed away after an illness of some duration, consoled by the ministra- tions of the Rev. Father Piquet, S.M. The principal mourners at the funeral were Messrs. William Byrne (husband), William A., Geo. and Albert Byrne (sons), Mes dames E. Boyd, J. Kelly, W. M. Fitzgerald and Miss Sara Byrne (daughters).

William Byrne (1808 - 1906) - (no relation) -, the husband of Hannah, was born in Parramatta , the son of convicts Patrick Byrne (1775 - 1808) and Sarah Best (~1774 - 1852) - again not related - from Co. Carlow, Ireland and Bedfordshire, England respectively, both arriving Sydney in 1798 with a 7 year sentence. When Patrick's sentence was completed, he joined the NSW "Rum Corps", and was involved in the deposition of Governor William Bligh in 1808.
