Blanche was born at Peelwood on Lake George and later lived at Kingswood near Goulburn.
Blanche married twice, to Frederick Oding in 1913 and Richard McCormack d. 1953 [1]in 1923. She had no children.
Fred was killed on 17 Nov 1915 At the Great Cobar mine on Wednesday morning a timberman, Fred Oding, fell down the main shall, a distance of 1450 ft. from the surface, and was killed. Deceased and a brother-in-law, Carter Manny Carter, were engaged in repairing the main shaft. [2] The inquest finding was accidental death [3]
Blanche collected over a hundred postcards in an album, dating from the 1890s through to around 1916 Blanche Byrne postcard album. She was a prolific writer, her most regular correspondent being Hilda. Many of the postcards start with thanking her for news, such as this one 21/10/1909 signed Aunty and Uncle Dear Blanche I am very pleased to hear you are all well up your way. Trust your brother is much improved and your mother is feeling much better. Many thanks for your kindness in asking me to spend a few weeks holiday with you I hope the day is not far off when I shall be able to have a few days with you. Best love from Aunty and Uncle accept some from me
In 1913 she was resident in Portland with her mother. Annie, John Francis, Joseph and Michael Byrne are also listed in in Portland.
In her old age Blanche was cared for by her sister Elsie. She died of dementia at Wyong Nursing Home.
