Bridget Byrne was born in Shankill, County Dublin, Ireland in 1862. Her Roman Catholic baptism appears on 3rd March 1862, in Kingstown parish, County Dublin. Catholic baptisms in Ireland were rarely more than two or three days after birth, giving a likely birth date of March 1862. She was the last of seven children born to Matthew Byrne and Bridget (Kearney) Byrne.
She was age 27 when she married Michael Gough in Little Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland in 1889. They had three children. Two appear to have survived to adulthood.
She passed away age 34 in Shankill, County Dublin, Ireland in 1896. Her husband Michael Gough married widow Winifred (Mitten) Lynam four years later in 1900.
Bridget is buried in Rathmichael Cemetery, County Dublin, Ireland under a headstone erected by her brother Patrick Byrne.
