Wedding.
On Wednesday, 6th October, a very pretty wedding took place at "Mary-vale," Bowral, between Mr. Selwyn Hogarth Byrnes, second son of Mr. C. J. Byrnes, of "Locksley," and Miss Vivienne Simons, youngest daughter of Mr. James Simons, "Maryvale," Bowral. The ceremony was performed in the drawing-room (which was beautifully decorated for the occasion) by the Rev. J. Craig, in the presence of a large gathering of friends.
The bride, who was given away by her father, looked very pretty in a gown of white silk voile and mechlin lace, with hat of white chiffon and feathers. The bridesmaids were Miss Eva Simons, sister of the bride, and Miss Lena Byrnes, sister of the bride groom, both of whom were beautifully gowned in mouaseline de soie, and wore gold bangles and carried bouquets, gifts of the bridegroom.
After the ceremony the guests were entertained with refreshments in a marquee on the lawn.
Mr. and Mrs. S. Hogarth Byrnes left during the afternoon for the Jenolan Caves.
The bride received a large dumber of presents, including a beautiful silver toilet set from the nursing staff of the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. [3]
