John Fred Boerger was born in Ft Loramie Ohio to Christ Boerger and Gertrude Meyer. He worked as a farmer "on a broad scale" and was very involved in the community he lived in all his life. He served as the president of the Loramie banking company, president of the board of education, and was active in St Michael's church. He married Mary Sherman at St Michael church on 22 Nov 1883. They had 8 children. Their children include:
